Car shopping is fun and we want to keep it that way. That’s why we partnered with Root Insurance. So you can just spend more time thinking about the color and trim of your Hyundai and no time thinking about insurance.
You get the Hyundai, we’ll cover the insurance for the first 6 months. It’s that simple. Naturally, like all insurance, after the 6 month term you’ll have the option to renew with Root Insurance if you choose. At that time, an agent can help walk you through coverage options.
Who is eligible
Arizona residents only.
The 6-month term is included with the purchase or lease of any new Hyundai vehicle available at all 14 Hyundai dealerships in Phoenix, Arizona. So, all residents of Arizona are eligible to receive this incentive.

What is the Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance promotion?
Hyundai Secure+ makes it easier to get coverage on your new Hyundai. Root Insurance is the preferred insurance provider of Hyundai. Together, they deliver an easy, tailored insurance experience. When you purchase or lease a qualified new Hyundai vehicle and finance or lease through Hyundai Capital America, doing business as Hyundai Motor Finance Hyundai will cover your first 6 months of auto insurance for the new Hyundai when you insure it with Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance.
Who qualifies for this incentive?
This program is open to Arizona residents who are binding insurance on a new Hyundai leased or financed through Hyundai Motor Finance. Eligibility is further determined by Root’s underwriting guidelines. Enrollment and activation are required within 30 days of the date the vehicle is financed.
What are the terms and conditions for cancellation and refund?
Customers can cancel the Root coverage and obtain their own insurance. However, they will not receive any premium refunds, and their finance contract payments will not be adjusted.
How do I know if I am eligible for a Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance policy?
To participate in this program, the customer must:
- Be a resident of Arizona.
- Purchase or lease an eligible new Hyundai vehicle during the promotional period prior to 1/4/27.
- Finance or lease the vehicle through Hyundai Motor Finance from a qualifying dealer inventory.
- Qualify for and obtain an eligible automobile insurance policy issued by Root
- Insurance or an affiliated underwriting company.
- Satisfy all applicable underwriting, rating, eligibility, and policy issuance requirements established by Root Insurance.
Insurance coverage is not guaranteed. Eligibility for this promotion does not guarantee eligibility for insurance coverage. Root Insurance retains sole authority regarding underwriting, policy issuance, premium determination, renewal, cancellation, claims handling, and all other insurance-related decisions. How long is my activation window?
This offer applies to new Hyundai sales leased or financed through Hyundai Motor Finance. Qualified customers must have the promotional policy activated within 30 days from the date the vehicle is financed.
How do I get my Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance policy?
Once your vehicle purchase or lease is finalized, qualified customers can start by scanning the QR code and entering your dealer’s ID provided to you by the dealership. Please be prepared to enter the following:
- Name (as it appears on U.S. driver’s license).
- Date of Birth.
- Mailing Address
- VIN of the vehicle just purchased/leased.
How do I file a claim?
You can file a claim right in the Root app or by calling (833) 922-3411.
What does my Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance policy cover?
This policy meets all state requirements and lender standards, so you’re fully covered from day one. The coverage is fixed for this period and cannot be changed.
- Bodily Injury coverage: $100k per person / $300k per occurrence.
- Property Damage coverage: $100k per occurrence.
- Comprehensive coverage: $1,000 deductible
- Collision coverage: $1,000 deductible
- Full Glass coverage: included
- Rental coverage: $50 per day / $1,500 per accident
- Roadside Assistance coverage: $100 per accident
- Uninsured Motorist & Underinsured Motorist coverage: $100k per person / $300k per accident. Medical Payment (MED) limit: $1k per person
Can Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance insure my other vehicles too?
This policy only covers your new Hyundai. You can add additional vehicles after your initial 6-month term.
Are there any other restrictions?
- No coverage changes: Customers cannot modify the preset coverage limits or change the deductible.
- No out-of-state moves: Moving out of state requires canceling and rewriting the policy, making customers ineligible to continue the Hyundai-funded program.
- No Business Purpose: Customers cannot use their new Hyundai vehicle for business purposes aside from app-based Ride Share services.
How are my other vehicles going to be insured?
They can remain on their current policy. You may only add vehicles to your Hyundai Secure+ Powered by Root Insurance policy after the promotional 6-month period is complete.
Can I make changes to my policy?
You can add or remove household drivers to your policy.
How do I renew at the end of my 6-month term?
You'll receive renewal communication via email, text, or a call in advance of your term ending.
HYUNDAI SECURE+™ 6-MONTH INSURANCE PROMOTION
Program Terms & Conditions
For a limited time, eligible Arizona residents who finance the purchase or lease of an eligible new Hyundai vehicle through Hyundai Motor Finance ("HMF") may receive six (6) months of complimentary automobile insurance coverage through Hyundai Secure+™ powered by Root®.
The promotion is available only to qualifying Arizona residents, only for eligible vehicle transactions completed during the promotional period, and only where insurance coverage is approved and issued by Root Insurance in accordance with its underwriting guidelines and applicable law.
The promotional insurance benefit is limited to the first six (6) months of the customer's qualifying insurance policy. Following the promotional period, the customer is responsible for payment of all premiums and charges necessary to maintain insurance coverage.
Offer subject to all applicable terms, conditions, eligibility requirements, underwriting requirements, policy limitations, and availability. Offer may be modified, suspended, or terminated at any time, subject to applicable law.

End of Promotional Period
This promotional offer ends January 4, 2027. Eligible customers who complete a qualifying vehicle purchase or lease before that date may receive up to six (6) months of complimentary coverage, subject to program terms.
After expiration of the promotional period, customers who wish to maintain coverage must continue the policy and pay all applicable premiums, fees, and charges directly to the insurer.
The cost of renewal coverage may differ from any premiums that would otherwise have applied during the promotional period.
Cancellations and Unearned Premiums
If a policy issued under this promotion is cancelled, terminated, or modified during the promotional period resulting in a return of premium, any unearned premium attributable to amounts paid under the promotional program may be returned to the sponsoring entity and not to the insured.
Any refund rights remain subject to the applicable policy terms and governing law.
